About Penelope
Penelope has been working as a voice artist and actress for over 20 years in all genres, working regularly in animation, narration, computer games, audiobooks, dubbing, continuity, English Language Tapes (spoken and singing), ADR and radio.
Originally from Surrey, Penelope grew up in the US becoming the all American kid. As a result, she works as a dual native British and American voice artist with an extensive range of UK and international authentic accents of all ages, whether in character voices or natural personable deliveries.
As an award winning audiobook narrator, Penelope has voiced over 300 audiobooks and was nominated by Audible for Narrator of the Year. Favourite titles include; Gorillas in the Mist, Dangerous Liaisons, Journey to the Sea, The Turn of the Screw, Homeland: Carrie’s Run, Homeland:Saul’s Game (based on the CBS television series), The Sex Lives of Siamese Twins by Irvin Welsh, The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes, Hattie B Magical Vet children’s series, The Red Queen by Philippa Gregory, The After Wife and the award winning debut thriller, Before You Knew My Name.
Known for her authentic children’s voices – Penelope is heard daily on CBeebies voicing Tap Tap the drumming woodpecker in Yukee. She is also the voice of Suzy Sheep, Mummy Sheep, Granny Sheep, Emily Elephant, Mandy Mouse, Candy Cat and Baby Alexander in the hugely popular Peppa Pig Tales. She can be heard on Netflix in Rainbow Rangers (voicing Lavender and Indigo), CBBC in Ninja Express, voicing Jackson Jet in Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Amazon Prime in Uma & Devan and the title role of Mini Wolf. Other animation includes Mighty Smighties, Captain Virat, Pomi & Nar, Hubert & Takako, The Amazing Adventures of Kika & Bob, Lulu Zipadoo and the voices of Princess Rhea and Princess Hera in the popular series SpacePops.
An extensive list of computer games and Warhammer titles, Penelope voiced 21 characters in the multi award winning Baldur’s Gate 3, Maleneth in series 1 and 2 of Realmslayer, opposite Brian Blessed’s Gotrek. As a stage actress for many years in regional, national and international theatre, Penelope played opposite Tommy Steele in Chaplin:The Musical. National tours include: Brief Encounter, Butterflies Are Free, Present Laughter, The Railway Children, The Lady Vanishes and Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? Radio dramas for the BBC include Proust’s In Search of Lost Time, The Professor, The American Senator and Portrait of a Lady.
Penelope is also a writer and produced her first play Pigeons in 2019 which sold out at the Hen & Chickens Theatre, London to 5 star reviews.
Penelope is married to actor, director and writer Dugald Bruce-Lockhart. They live in Kent with their two children. Aside from her work and family life, Penelope has a passion for aromatherapy and is a qualified Aromatherapist.
